NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- D3Hoops.com, a website devoted to the national coverage of NCAA Division III basketball, released its all-America teams on Saturday and the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was represented by three student-athletes including two on the men's team and one on the women's team.
Carthage senior guard Steve Djurickovic (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Kenosha-Bradford), the conference's Fred Young Most Outstanding Player in 2010 and 2011, was named to the first team. Djurickovic was named the D3Hoops.com Player of the Year last season and was also recently named the 2011 DIII News Player of the Year.
Joining Djurickovic was Wheaton junior forward Tim McCrary (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier), who earned fourth-team honors. Both Djurickovic and McCrary earned first-team all-conference honors this season.
On the women's side, CCIW Most Outstanding Player Laura Karsten (Grand Haven, Mich./Western Michigan Christian), a Wheaton junior guard, was named to the second team.
