NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carthage’s Will Hodges and North Central’s Nate Arenson were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week Tuesday.
Hodges, a senior centerfielder from Oak Park, Ill., and Naperville North High School (Business Administration major), went 11-for-18 (.611) in five games last week with six runs scored, four doubles, one home run, 14 RBI, two stolen bases and a 1.000 slugging percentage. In the Red Men’s doubleheader sweep of Millikin on April 30, Hodges went 7-for-9 with four runs scored, two doubles, a home run and nine RBI.
Arenson, a senior pitcher from Naperville, Ill., and Naperville North High School (Physical Education major), pitched a nine-inning complete game in North Central's 5-1 win over Augustana on Saturday, allowing no earned runs and scattering just three hits while striking out three and walking one. He allowed just one hit after the fourth inning. It was Arenson's third complete game of the season and improved his record to 4-1 this season.
