NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Elmhurst’s Scottie Williams, North Central’s Shane Dierking and Elmhurst’s David Tomis were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Football Players of the Week Monday.

Williams, a senior running back from Woodridge, Illinois and Downers Grove South High School (Marketing major), accounted for 258 yards of offense and four touchdowns in Elmhurst’s 45-42 overtime victory at Millikin on Saturday. He rushed for 229 yards on 32 carries for a 7.2 yard average. Williams set an Elmhurst and CCIW single-game record by ripping off a 99-yard touchdown run, breaking the previous Elmhurst mark of 90 and the CCIW record of 97. He added a pair of three-yard TD runs and also scored on a five-yard run. Williams also set new Elmhurst career records for rushing touchdowns (43) and points scored (278).

Dierking, a junior defensive back from Wheaton, Illinois and Wheaton-Warrenville South High School (Management major),  helped jump start a pair of North Central scoring drives with two first half interceptions during a 42-10 win at Carthage on Saturday. He also finished with three solo tackles and a pass breakup and now leads the CCIW with four interceptions this season.

Tomis, a junior kicker from Lindenhurst, Illinois and Lakes Community High School (Exercise Science major), scored nine points and had a perfect kicking day in Elmhurst's win at Millikin. Tomis was a perfect 6-of-6 in extra point attempts and connected on a 44-yard field goal in overtime that proved to be the game-winning score for the Bluejays.
