NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s
Emily Hinchman and North Central’s
Mackenzie Wenger were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Soccer Players of the Week Tuesday.
Hinchman, a senior forward from Geneva, Illinois and Geneva High School (Nursing major), scored three of Illinois Wesleyan’s four goals last week and also tallied an assist as the Titans went 2-0-0 in CCIW play. She scored two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 victory against Elmhurst on October 6. Four nights earlier, Hinchman scored her team’s only goal in a 1-0 win over Millikin. Additionally, eight of her 11 shots taken between the two games were on goal.
Wenger, a junior defender from Davis, Illinois and Dakota High School (Exercise Science major), led the Cardinal defense in the middle back position during a 2-0 shutout of Elmhurst on October 3. Wenger assisted on the game-winning goal, giving the Cardinals their first win in program history over the Bluejays. North Central’s defense also surrendered just three shots in a 4-1 win over Lawrence on October 7.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
