NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Millikin’s Sean Dunning, along with North Central’s Nick Slezak and Nick Dace were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Football Players of the Week on Monday.

Dunning, a junior running back from Decatur, Illinois and St. Teresa High School (Communication major), rushed for 244 yards on 36 carries and four touchdowns during a 28-21 win at Carthage on Saturday. Dunning’s 244 yards gave him 1,520 rushing yards for the season, setting a new Millikin record. Dunning’s 1,118 rushing yards in seven conference games this season is ranked eighth in CCIW history.

Slezak, a senior linebacker from Warrenville, Illinois and Glenbard South High School (Mathematics major), led the Cardinals with eight tackles (six solo) during a 53-14 win over Augustana on Saturday. He had a career-high four tackles-for-loss against the Vikings and scored North Central’s first defensive touchdown of the season on a 22-yard fumble return in the first quarter. The win earned the Cardinals’ the outright CCIW title with a 7-0 conference record (10-0 overall).

Dace, a senior kicker from Freeport, Illinois and Freeport High School (Sport Management major), broke the North Central record for made field goals, going four-for-four against Augustana. Dace had field goals of 20, 29, 38 and 34 yards, was five-of-six on PATs, and averaged 54.2 yards on 10 kickoffs.
