NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Nathan Fitzenreider was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestler of the Week for the second-straight week and third time this season on Tuesday.
Fitzenreider, a senior from Winfield, Illinois and Wheaton North High School (Mathematics Education major), won the title at 133 pounds during the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on Saturday. He started the day with a win against Upper Iowa’s Eric Nelson by technical fall, 16-1, followed by a pin against Roarke Langer of Augsburg. In the championship, he beat Augsburg’s Tossaporn Suparat at the 1:04 mark of the second period. The win was Fitzenreider’s second-straight after taking the title at Wheaton’s Pete Willson Invitational last week.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
