NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Nathan Fitzenreider was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestler of the Week for the second-straight week and third time this season on Tuesday.

Fitzenreider, a senior from Winfield, Illinois and Wheaton North High School (Mathematics Education major), won the title at 133 pounds during the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on Saturday. He started the day with a win against Upper Iowa’s Eric Nelson by technical fall, 16-1, followed by a pin against Roarke Langer of Augsburg. In the championship, he beat Augsburg’s Tossaporn Suparat at the 1:04 mark of the second period. The win was Fitzenreider’s second-straight after taking the title at Wheaton’s Pete Willson Invitational last week.

During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
