North Park's Peterson named CCIW Women's Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Park’s Sarah Peterson was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.

Peterson, a senior forward from Eagan, Minnesota and Minnehaha Academy (Education major), nearly finished with a triple double in a 91-89 victory at North Central on Saturday to remain in the running for the final CCIW Women’s Basketball Tournament spot. She finished with a career-high 31 points, along with 11 rebounds, eight assists, five blocks and five steals. The 31 points and 11 rebounds was Peterson’s 14th double-double of her career.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
