North Central's Marble named CCIW Women's Tennis Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Megan Marble was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Tennis Player of the Week Wednesday.

Marble, a freshman from Danville, Illinois and Danville High School, went undefeated at No. 6 singles (3-0) and No. 3 doubles (3-0) during the Cardinals’ spring trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina last week. She defeated Benedict's Darnel Howlett (6-2, 6-0) on March 17, Graceland's Paige Rovino (6-0, 6-1) on March 19 and Edinboro's Lydia Browne (2-6, 6-3, 6-4) on March 20. At No. 3 doubles, Marble and partner Kassy Bernardo defeated McDaniel (8-3), Graceland (8-5) and Edinboro (9-8).

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
