NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s John Crain and Carthage’s Trevor James were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Tuesday.

Crain, a junior from Dunlap, Illinois and Dunlap High School (Sociology-Criminal Justice major), placed second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:12.80 in the University/College Division at the Drake Relays over the weekend. His time is currently ranked second in the nation and first in the CCIW.

James, a junior from Maywood, Illinois and Maywood High School (Accounting & Management major), took fifth in the high jump with a height of 2.12 meters (6-11 ½) at the Drake Relays over the weekend. His performance is currently ranked second in the nation and first in the CCIW.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
