NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Tess Godhardt was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
Godhardt, a senior guard from Hinckley, Illinois and Hinckley-Big Rock High School (Political Science major), was named the Chicago Marriott Naperville Tip-Off MVP as the Cardinals went 2-0 at their own weekend tournament. She set a North Central record with 40 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the field and a 15-of-20 effort from the free throw line during a 117-115 double overtime victory over Millsaps on Saturday. The previous record was 39 set by Amanda Orsburn against Carthage on February 3, 2001. Godhardt also tallied 14 points, three rebounds and two steals in a 100-84 win over St. Mary’s (Ind.) in the season opener on Friday.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2013-14 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,400 academic all-conference recipients, 14 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 33 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients and 87 all-Americans.
