NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Jayme Moten was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
Moten, a junior guard from Spicer, Minnesota and New London-Spicer High School (Marketing major), averaged 23.5 points and shot 71 percent from the field in two wins on the West Coast over the weekend. He scored 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field including a 6-of-8 effort from three-point range during a 79-77 overtime win against Pomona-Pitzer on Thursday. He scored the game-tying three-pointer with 27 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, and then made the game-tying three-pointer and assisted on the game-winning basket in OT. Moten then matched a single-game season-high scoring effort by any North Central player on Saturday with 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting (6-of-9 shooting from three-point range) during a 64-47 win over Redlands.
