NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Krista Cota and Carthage’s
Becca McMullin were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Cota, a senior from Eldridge, Iowa and North Scott High School (Business Administration major), won the 800-meter run at North Central’s Cardinal Classic on Friday. Competing in the 800 for the first time this season, Cota clocked a time of 2:17.32, which currently ranks first in the CCIW and 30th on the NCAA Division III national list.
McMullin, a junior from Round Lake, Illinois and Grant Community High School (English major), finished third in the weight throw at UW-Stevens Point’s Eastbay/Pointer Invitational on Saturday. She finished with a distance of 16.69 meters (54-9 ¼), which was a lifetime best. It also currently ranks first in the CCIW and 13th nationally.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2012-13 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,400 academic all-conference recipients, 15 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans, 30 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, 68 all-Americans and one national championship team.
