NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
John Crain and Carthage’s
David Goodalis was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Crain, a senior from Dunlap, Illinois and Dunlap High School (Sociology-Criminal Justice major), won the indoor mile at Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Leonard “Squig” Converse Invitational on Friday. He finished with a personal best time of 4:09.79, which is the current best in NCAA Division III so far this season.
Goodalis, a sophomore from Naperville, Illinois and Naperville Central High School (Criminal Justice major), finished second in the weight throw with a personal best distance of 16.81 meters (55-2) at Carthage’s Tadd Metzger Invitational on Friday. Competing in his first meet since ACL surgery, Goodalis earned the second best throw in the conference and 22nd best in the nation.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2012-13 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,400 academic all-conference recipients, 15 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans, 30 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, 68 all-Americans and one national championship team.
