NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Connor Sass and Augustana’s Connor Woolf were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Co-Men’s Tennis Players of the Week on Wednesday.

Sass, a freshman from Naperville, Illinois and Neuqua Valley High School (Management, Marketing and Finance major), went 4-0 for the Cardinals last week. He defeated Greenville’s Demetrius Bush (6-2, 0-6, 10-3) at No. 5 singles and teamed with Mason Sass at No. 2 doubles to defeat Greenville’s Ryan Haas and Alex Dowley (8-2). He then defeated Simpson’s Mike Rundle at No. 5 singles (8-0) and Geoff Converse and Dylan Hogan at No. 2 doubles (8-1). North Central defeated Greenville 5-4 and Simpson 6-3.

Woolf, a freshman from Evanston, Illinois and Evanston High School (Business major), also went 4-0 for his team last week. He defeated Edgewood’s Michael Wanta at No. 4 singles (6-0, 6-0) and teamed with Colin Arnold at No. 2 doubles to beat Brian Davenport and Wanta (8-3). Woolf also defeated Wabash’s Nathan Neal (6-1, 6-1) at No.4 singles and Mazin Hakim and Neal at No. 2 doubles (8-5). The Vikings defeated Edgewood 8-1 and Wabash 6-3.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2012-13 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,400 academic all-conference recipients, 15 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans, 30 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, 68 all-Americans and one national championship team.
