NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Travis Morrison and
Luke Winder were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Morrison, a senior from Hoffman Estates, Illinois and Schaumburg High School (Physics major), broke the Al B. Carius Track facility record in the 5,000-meter run at North Central’s Cardinal Opener on Friday. His time of 14:26.70 currently ranks first on the NCAA Division III Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS) national list.
Winder, a freshman from Joliet, Illinois and Plainfield Central High School (Physical Education major), won his second-straight field athlete of the week honor in his second week of collegiate competition. He again broke North Central’s freshman pole vault record, finishing first at the Cardinal opener with a height of 17-1 (5.21 meters), which currently ranks first nationally.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL).
