NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Travis Morrison and Luke Winder were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Morrison, a senior from Hoffman Estates, Illinois and Schaumburg High School (Physics major), broke the Al B. Carius Track facility record in the 5,000-meter run at North Central’s Cardinal Opener on Friday. His time of 14:26.70 currently ranks first on the NCAA Division III Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS) national list.

Winder, a freshman from Joliet, Illinois and Plainfield Central High School (Physical Education major), won his second-straight field athlete of the week honor in his second week of collegiate competition. He again broke North Central’s freshman pole vault record, finishing first at the Cardinal opener with a height of 17-1 (5.21 meters), which currently ranks first nationally.
