NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s Artie Checchin, Wheaton’s Adam Dansdill and Millikin’s Chayce Volpert were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Football Players of the Week on Monday.
 
Checchin, a senior wide receiver from Arlington Heights, Illinois and Rolling Meadows High School (Business/Finance major), scored three touchdowns during the Titans’ 49-28 win at Elmhurst on Saturday. He had touchdown catches of 72 and 45 yards and also scored on a 13-yard reverse. Checchin had two fourth quarter touchdowns to help break a 28-28 tie after three quarters.
 
Dansdill, a senior linebacker from Wheaton, Illinois and Wheaton-Warrenville South High School (Engineering major), totaled 12 tackles (7 solo) and 2.5 tackles-for-loss during Wheaton’s 17-9 win at North Central in the Little Brass Bell game on Saturday. He played a key role in helping to hold the Cardinals to 167 yards below their average for total yards. Seven of Dansdill’s tackles were on North Central carries of three yards or less and he also tallied a tackle for a loss of minus eight yards in the fourth quarter.
 
Volpert, a junior kicker from Chatham, Illinois and Glenwood High School (Accounting major), was 2-for-2 on field goals and 2-for-2 on PATs during the Big Blue’s 20-17 win over North Park on Saturday. He kicked a 22-yard field goal in the first quarter and a 31-yard field goal in the fourth quarter that put Millikin up for good. Volpert also had five kickoffs for 300 yards and including a touchback.
