NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced the 2015 All-Conference Women’s Tennis Team on Monday.
Wheaton No. 1 singles player
Julie Buursma (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian) was named the CCIW Player of the Year after winning the No. 1 singles title at the CCIW Women’s Tennis Championship on October 24. Buursma became the first Wheaton Player of the Year winner since Elizabeth Worsowicz in 2011.
Elmhurst No. 1 singles player
Ava Kolman (Downers Grove, Ill./St. Francis) was named the CCIW Newcomer of the Year, the second Bluejay to win the honor since Annie Duggan in 2012.
Augustana No. 4 singles player
Aileen MacDonald (Mundelein, Ill./H.S.) earned CCIW Championship MVP honors with wins at both No. 4 singles and No. 1 doubles with teammate Dana Goggin on October 24. The Vikings won their first CCIW title in women’s tennis since 1997. Augustana's Jon Miedema earned CCIW Coach of the Year honors.
The all-conference team and player awards were voted on by the CCIW’s head women’s tennis coaches.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2014-15 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,500 academic all-conference recipients, 19 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 46 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients and 102 all-Americans.
