NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Kiersten Tinkoff and Andrea Starr were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Softball Players of the Week on Tuesday.

Tinkoff, a senior infielder from Lake Barrington, Illinois and Barrington High School (Psychology major), batted .522 (12-for-23) with six runs, three doubles, one home run, 12 RBI and a .783 slugging percentage for the 4-2 Cardinals last week. She finished a combined 5-for-8 with four runs and seven RBI in a double-header sweep of Carthage on April 14, followed by a 4-for-8 performance with a run and two RBI in a split with Wheaton on April 16. She ended the week by going a combined 3-for-7 with a run and three RBI in a split with Illinois Wesleyan on April 18.

Starr, a junior pitcher from Elk Grove, Illinois and Elk Grove High School (Exercise Science major), went 4-1 against CCIW competition with a 1.37 ERA, 17 strikeouts and six walks for the Cardinals last week. She pitched five innings with six strikeouts in a 13-1 win against Carthage in game one of a double header on April 14, followed by a five strikeout performance in a 10-2 win in game two. Starr then had five strikeouts in six innings pitched during a 12-3 win against Wheaton on April 16 and one strikeout in a 7-3 win over Illinois Wesleyan on April 18.
