NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Elmhurst’s Orlando Hernandez, along with Wheaton’s Luke Sahly and Zach Feddeler were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Football Players of the Week on Monday.
 
Hernandez, a sophomore quarterback from Peoria, Illinois and Peoria High School (Physical Education major), accounted for 402 total yards during the Bluejays’ 45-34 win over Carroll on Saturday. He rushed for 127 yards on 13 carries and a one-yard touchdown run as he averaged 9.8 yards per carry. He also completed 16-of-24 passes for 275 yards, no interceptions and touchdown passes of 65, 13 and 30 yards. Elmhurst set a new single-game record for total yardage with 607 yards of offense.
 
Sahly, a senior linebacker from Winfield, Illinois and Wheaton North High School (Business/Economics major), led the Thunder defense with nine tackles in a 35-19 Homecoming victory over Millikin on Saturday. He also tied for the team lead with five solo tackles and had a forced fumble in the first half.
 
Feddeler, a sophomore punter from Lakeland, Florida and Lakeland High School, had four punts for 147 yards (36.8-yard average) against Millikin on Saturday. He had a long punt of 54 yards and two punts that went inside the Millikin 20-yard line, including a 29-yard punt that was fair caught at the Big Blue five-yard line.
