NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Zach Plank won his third College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor of the 2016 season on Tuesday.
Plank, a senior from Dunlap, Illinois and Dunlap High School (Actuarial Sciences major), won the individual title in the Silver Division at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday at E.P. Sawyer State Park. The event served as this year’s NCAA Division III Pre-National Meet as the Cardinals took home the title in a 43-team field. Plank took first out of 388 individuals, finishing the 8,000-meter course in 24:53.60. He was one of six North Central runners to finish in the top 10.

During the 2015-16 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,600 academic all-conference recipients, 14 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 36 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients and over 100 all-Americans.
