NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Wheaton’s Trey Hanley, along with North Central’s Josh Leonhard and Zane Lodico were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Football Players of the Week on Monday.
 
Hanley, a junior wide receiver from Castle Rock, Colorado and Valor Christian (Business/Economics major), tied a career high with six catches and set a career high with 135 receiving yards during a 37-14 win at Augustana on Saturday. He had a career-best 57-yard reception on the first play of the game that set up Wheaton’s first touchdown.
 
Leonhard, a freshman defensive lineman from Batavia, Illinois and Batavia High School (Economics major), finished with nine tackles (eight solo), 6.5 tackles-for-loss and four sacks during a 34-21 win at Carthage on Saturday. He tied the North Central record for quarterback sacks in a single game and came within a half-tackle of matching the Cardinals’ record for tackles-for-loss. As a team, North Central recorded 11 sacks, breaking its previous team record of eight.  
 
Lodico, a freshman punter from Lake Zurich, Illinois and Lake Zurich High School (Chemistry major), achieved an average of at least 40 yards punting for the fourth time this season. He had six punts for 240 yards (40.0 average) and landed two punts inside the Carthage 20-yard line. Only one of his punts was returned and it went for four yards.
