NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Mayson Whipple was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
 
Whipple, a sophomore guard from Byron, Illinois and Byron High School, totaled 27 points, nine rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in a 105-100 win over North Park that earned the Cardinals a berth in the CCIW Women’s Basketball Tournament. She helped lead North Central to an 11-point fourth quarter comeback with 16 of her 27 points in the final 10 minutes. Whipple also blocked a three-point attempt on North Park’s final possession as the Cardinals held a 103-100 lead.
