NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carthage’s Matt Rave and North Central’s Jordan Van Dyck were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Rave, a junior shortstop from Bloomington, Illinois and Central Catholic High School (Accounting & Management major), batted .600 (12-for-20) with seven runs, 12 RBI, five walks, three doubles, one home run, a .900 slugging percentage and a .680 on-base percentage during the Red Men’s final six games of their spring trip to Tucson, Arizona. He was 3-for-4 with a run and two RBI in a 15-3 win over Colby on March 23. Rave also went 4-for-5 with three runs, five RBI, a double and home run in a 14-4 win over Carleton on March 25. He had two runs, two RBI, a double and two walks in a 19-4 win over Gustavus Adolphus on March 26 and finished the trip by going 2-for-4 with a run, RBI, double and walk in a 13-8 over Middlebury on Easter Sunday.
 
Van Dyck, a senior pitcher from Crystal Lake, Illinois and Crystal Lake South High School (Exercise Science major), went 1-0 in two appearances with a 0.00 ERA and a .143 opponent’s batting average last week. He pitched eight innings of a 2-1 win over Manchester on March 22 and gave up no earned runs on four hits, no walks and two strikeouts. He also threw the final two innings of a 6-1 win over Wisconsin Lutheran on March 26 as he struck out two batters and gave up just one hit. Van Dyck has not allowed an earned run or walk this season over 14 innings pitched.
