NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Chris Hill and Bryan Polowy were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Hill, a junior catcher from Bristol, Illinois and Yorkville High School (Exercise Science major), batted .462 (6-for-13) with seven runs, one double, one triple, three home runs, eight RBI and a 1.385 slugging percentage for the 3-0 Cardinals last week. He finished with a run, two RBI and a stolen base in a 22-8 win over Lawrence in the season opener on March 5 in Jacksonville, Illinois. He was 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in a 12-4 win over Carleton in game one of a double header on March 6 in Jacksonville. Hill then hit for the cycle and went 4-for-5 with two RBI in an 11-0 win in game two.
 
Polowy, a senior pitcher from Carol Stream, Illinois and Glenbard North High School (Finance/Economics major), pitched the Cardinals to an 11-0 shutout of Carleton in game two. He went 6.0 innings and gave up one hit, struck out nine batters and walked only two as the Knights hit just .050 against him.
