NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Kelsey Forkin was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Forkin, a junior from Orland Park, Illinois and Lockport Township High School (Pre-Health major), helped lead the Cardinals to three wins last week to move their record to 6-1 this spring. She picked up three wins at No. 2 singles, beating Purdue University-Calumet’s Ashley Pabey (6-1, 6-0), Concordia-Wisconsin’s Hannah Tresedder (6-0, 6-0) and Webster’s Kaylen Kress (7-5, 6-1). Forkin and teammate Clare O’Conner were 2-1 at No. 1 doubles with wins over Purdue-Calumet’s Lori Haas and Pabey (8-6) and Concordia-Wisconsin’s Ashley Solberg and Bailey Kelly (8-2).

During the 2014-15 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,500 academic all-conference recipients, 19 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 46 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients and 102 all-Americans.
