NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Nick Sotiros and Augustana’s Walter White were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Sotiros, a junior first baseman from New Berlin, Wisconsin and West Allis Nathan Hale High School (Accounting major), batted .500 (10-for-20) with three runs, four doubles and three RBI for the 3-2 Cardinals last week. He slugged .700 for the week and had a 25-game hitting streak come to an end against Aurora on May 9. Additionally, his four doubles last week gave him 22 on the season, which set a new North Central single-season record. Sotiros finished a combined 8-for-12 with two runs, three RBI and three doubles as the Cardinals took two of three against Carthage to secure a share of their second-straight CCIW title.
 
White, a senior pitcher from East Peoria, Illinois and East Peoria High School (Accounting & Business Finance major), was the winning pitcher in an 8-2 victory over Millikin in game one of a three-game series on May 6. He pitched all nine innings, gave up seven hits, one walk and had 14 strikeouts. Augustana swept the season series from Millikin, which earned the Vikings a share of the CCIW title, their second in the last three seasons.
