NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Zach Plank won his second-straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor on September 13.
Plank, a senior from Dunlap, Illinois and Dunlap High School (Actuarial Sciences major), was the Cardinals’ top finisher at Friday’s Country Financial Illinois State Invitational. He finished third out of 89 runners with a time of 25:15.18 in the 8K, which he achieved in persistent rain. North Central placed third in the nine-team field just behind Iowa and Eastern Illinois. The Cardinals were the only non-Division I team competing in the field.

During the 2015-16 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,600 academic all-conference recipients, 14 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 36 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients and over 100 all-Americans.
