NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Dhruvil Patel was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week on September 20.
Patel, a sophomore from Skokie, Illinois and Niles North High School (Accounting major), was the Cardinals’ top finisher at the Wheaton Gil Dodds Invitational on Saturday. He took fourth in a 185-man field with a time of 25:43.1 as North Central, who kept the majority of its veterans out of the lineup, finished second with 39 points. The Cardinals have been the No. 1-ranked team nationally the entire season according to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll.
