North Central sweeps CCIW Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Nolan McKenna and Adam Poklop were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
 
McKenna, a sophomore from Wheaton, Illinois and Wheaton-Warrenville South High School (Physical Education major), won his second-straight track athlete of the week honor after a first place finish in the 5,000-meter run at North Central’s Cardinal Opener on Friday. His time of 14:35.35 currently ranks first in both the CCIW and on the NCAA Division III national list.
 
Poklop, a junior from Palatine, Illinois and Palatine High School (History/Journalism major), cleared a personal best height of 6-9 ½ to win the high jump at the Cardinal Opener. His height currently ranks first in the CCIW and tied for third nationally. North Central won the four-team meet with a team score of 271.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2015-16 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,600 academic all-conference recipients, 14 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 36 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients and over 100 all-Americans.
