North Park wins first CCIW men's soccer title since 2006

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Park’s 3-0 shutout of North Central Wednesday night earned the Vikings their first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) men’s soccer title since 2006 and fourth title overall.
 
With the win, the John Born-led program moved to 14-1-1 overall and 6-0-1 in conference play. The Vikings will host a CCIW Tournament semifinal match on Wednesday, November 1 with the winners facing off for the championship on Saturday, November 4. The tournament champion will earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship.
 
Born has been at the helm of all four conference titles (2004, 2005, 2006, 2017) as well as three CCIW Tournament titles (2004, 2005, 2010) and six NCAA postseason appearances (2005, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014).
 
The Vikings close out the regular season at Elmhurst on Saturday, October 28 before hosting the conference tournament semifinal match.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL).
