DECATUR, Ill. -- Carthage came back from an 0-2 deficit and earned a 22-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-12 win over Millikin to claim the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Volleyball Tournament title on Saturday.
With the victory, the Lady Reds won the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship. The full bracket will be announced at 11:30 a.m. CST on Monday, November 6 via an
NCAA.com Selection Show.
This was the ninth tournament title in program history and third in the last four years. Carthage's farthest NCAA advancement came in 2015 when the Lady Reds made it to the semifinal round.
On Saturday, CCIW Tournament MVP
Megan Behrendt led Carthage with 18 kills and added 17 digs, while
Ellie LeCount finished with 47 set assists and 12 kills.
Rachael Kisten added 17 kills and
Luci Krenzke had a game-high 32 digs.
Alora Goodey led Millikin with a game-high 27 kills and hit .356.
