NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carthage’s
Maddie Griffin and North Central’s
Mynk Richardson-Clerk were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday.
Griffin, a senior midfielder from Parker, Colorado and Ponderosa High School (Graphic Design & Marketing major), was her team’s leading scorer in the Lady Reds’ only game last week. She finished with three goals and three assists in an 11-9 win over defending Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference champion Concordia (Wis.) on March 8. She also had a team-high seven ground balls, along with three draw controls and three caused turnovers against the Falcons.
Richardson-Clerk, a freshman midfielder from Hoffman Estates, Illinois and Hoffman Estates High School (Political Science major), helped lead the Cardinals to a pair of wins last week. She finished with three ground balls, one caused turnover and a draw control in a 20-7 win at Benedictine on March 8 and followed up with a ground ball, three caused turnovers and four draw controls in a 14-11 win over Adrian on March 11.
