North Central's Forkin named CCIW Women's Tennis Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Kelsey Forkin was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.
 
Forkin, a senior from Orland Park, Illinois and Lockport Township High School (Psychology major), was 4-0 for the Cardinals last week. She teamed with Claire O’Connor for wins at No. 1 doubles over Concordia-Wisconsin’s Ashley Solberg and Elizabeth Carroll (8-2) and Purdue-Northwest’s Brooke Foltz and Stella Evers (8-1). Forkin won both of her matches at No. 3 singles, beating Purdue-Northwest’s Carolina Yepez (6-0, 6-3) and Concordia-Wisconsin’s Hannah Tresedder (6-0, 6-2). North Central won both matches 5-4.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2015-16 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,600 academic all-conference recipients, 14 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 36 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients and over 100 all-Americans.
