North Central's Flores, Carthage's Tausend named CCIW Men's Soccer Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Alexis Flores and Carthage’s Jamie Tausend were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Soccer Players of the Week on September 12.
 
Flores, a sophomore forward from Hanover Park, Illinois and Schaumburg High School, scored a pair of goals in the Cardinals’ 3-2 overtime win at Grinnell on September 9. His first goal came in the 49th minute off an assist from Ryan O’Deen. Flores tallied the game winner in the 94th minute, again off an assist from O’Deen. The moved the Cardinals to 2-2-0 and it was their third overtime contest of the season.
 
Tausend, a senior defender from Deer Park, Illinois and Barrington High School (Accounting & Finance major), helped lead the Red Men to a 2-1-0 record last week as their only loss was to ninth-ranked University of Chicago. He tallied an assist on a Freddie Martinez goal during a 4-1 win over Kalamazoo on September 5. Carthage held the Hornets to just five shots (three on goal). During a 2-1 win over Hope on September 8, the Flying Dutchmen were also held to five shots (two on goal).
