NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Wheaton’s
Hannah Roeske and North Central’s
Naomi Yamane were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Roeske, a freshman from Eleva, Wisconsin and Memorial High School, battled through challenging weather conditions to win the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Benedictine Relays on Friday. Her time of 11:01.81 currently ranks first in the conference and 11th on the NCAA Division III national list via TFRRS.org.
Yamane, a junior from Wheaton, Illinois and Wheaton-Warrenville South High School (Kinesiology major), won the hammer throw at Friday’s Benedictine Relays with a lifetime best throw of 167-11 (51.19 meters). This throw currently ranks second in the CCIW and 11th in Division III.
