NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Augustana’s
Hannah Willhite and North Central’s
Taiah Gallisath were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Willhite, a sophomore from Rock Island, Illinois and Rock Island High School (Elementary Education major), won three events during Augustana’s 78th annual Vikings Olympics on Thursday. She took first in both the 100-meter dash (12.26) and the 200-meter dash (25.22), and ran the second leg on the first place 4x100-meter relay (47.87), which set a meet and school record. Willhite’s times in the 100 and 200 are both ranked first in the CCIW and ninth on the NCAA Division III national list posted on TFRRS.org. The 4x100 time is first in the CCIW and fourth nationally.
Gallisath, a sophomore from Machesney Park, Illinois and Harlem High School (Exercise Science major), tied for first place in the high jump at the Viking Olympics. Her mark of 5-3 (1.60 meters) was a lifetime best by two inches and is ranked first in the CCIW and 12th in NCAA Division III.
