NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Mike Wisz and Russell Hoh were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Wisz, a sophomore outfielder from Woodridge, Illinois and Lemont Township High School (Management major), totaled 16 RBIs and batted .425 (10-for-23) for the 5-1 Cardinals last week. He was 2-for-5 with two RBI against Aurora on April 24, and combined to go 2-for-7 with one run and three RBIs in a 3-1, 10-4 double-header sweep at Augustana on April 25. He then went 2-for-4 with one run and three RBIs in an 8-2 win against Elmhurst in game one on April 28, followed by a 2-for-3 performance with one double and five RBIs in a 12-1 win in game two. He finished the week by going 2-for-4 with one run, two doubles and three RBIs in a 12-2 win against Elmhurst on April 29.
 
Hoh, a senior pitcher from Lockport, Illinois and Lockport Township High School (Economics major), went 7.2 innings of a 3-1 win at Augustana on April 25. He scattered four hits, gave up only one earned run, one walk and also struck out four batters. Hoh improved to 4-0 in CCIW play with a 0.98 ERA over four starts and 20 strikeouts to just four walks.
