NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Mike Wisz and Millikin’s Ben Williamson were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Wisz, a sophomore outfielder from Woodridge, Illinois and Lemont Township High School (Management major), won his second-straight CCIW Hitter of the Week honor after helping lead the Cardinals to their 14th CCIW title last week. He batted .462 (12-for-26) with eight runs, two doubles, three home runs, 11 RBIs and an .885 slugging percentage. He broke the CCIW’s single-season RBI record with 47 in conference play this season. Wisz was 4-for-5 with two runs, two home runs and six RBIs in a 19-13 win at North Park on May 5. Earlier in the week, he was 2-for-5 with one run and one double in an 8-3 win at Illinois Wesleyan on May 1, which clinched the regular season title.
 
Williamson, a sophomore pitcher from Farmer City, Illinois and Blue Ridge High School (Sociology major), pitched all seven innings of a 5-0 shutout of Greenville on May 4. He scattered three hits, gave up no walks, just one double and had three strikeouts.
