Wheaton's Ezewuzie, North Central's McLaurin named CCIW Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Wheaton's Favor Ezewuzie and North Central's Kelsey McLaurin were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Ezewuzie, a senior from Malden, Massachusetts and Covenant Christian Academy, won three events (60-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash) and was second in another (long jump) during the Windy City Rumble at the University of Chicago over the weekend. Her times of 7.57 (60 dash), 8.76 (60 hurdles) and 25.25 (200 dash) all rank first in the CCIW and second, third and fourth, respectively, on the NCAA Division III national list. Her time in the 60-meter hurdles also tied a facility record.

McLaurin, a junior from South Barrington, Illinois and Barrington High School, won the triple jump at Friday's North Central Invitational with a mark of 12.06 meters (39-7). Her mark is currently ranked second on the NCAA Division III national list and is almost one meter ahead of the next jumper on the CCIW honor roll. McLaurin also ran a season-best time of 26.10 in the 200-meter dash.
