Luke Lamm was selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic District Baseball Team on Thursday.
Lamm, a native of Bolingbrook, Illinois and Plainfield East High School, earned Academic All-District honors for the first time after achieving a 3.86 grade-point average (GPA) as an Accounting major. He finished the season ranked second in NCAA Division III with 11 wins, which broke North Central's single-season record. Lamm finished 11-0 with single-season records for strikeouts (92) and innings pitched (87.2). He was a D3baseball.com All-American, an all-region honoree by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), and the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Pitcher of the Year.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team is part of the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program, that honors student-athletes annually who have succeeded at the highest level in athletics and in the classroom. Members of the eight First Team Academic All-District® squads in each Division advance to the national ballot, where they have the opportunity to be selected for the Academic All-America Team. Individuals are selected through voting by CoSIDA; a 2,000-plus member organization consisted of sports public relations professionals for colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.
The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst University (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL).
