NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan's Paul Oehrlein was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Player of the Week Tuesday, his second honor in as many weeks.
Oehrlein, a senior math & economics major from Des Plaines, Ill., and Maine West High School, had four wins and two losses in doubles and singles during the past week. He lost at No. 1 doubles and a tight No. 3 singles match against Danny Glinert of University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 7-5, 6-7(5), 10-5. He then went undefeated the rest of the week with No. 1 doubles wins over J.T. Delk (Wheaton, Ill./North) and Sammy Ramoni (Honiara, Guadalcanal/New Mexico Military Institute) of Carthage (8-4), and Chris Mullin (Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South) and Adam DeSimone (Bettendorf, Iowa/H.S.) of Augustana (8-6). He also earned a No. 3 singles victories of 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 over Delk, and a 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 win over DeSimone.
