CCIW Men's basketball second in ncaa division iii attendance in 2007-08
NAPERVILLE, Ill.-- The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) was second nationally in attendance at men's basketball games during the 2007-08 season.
This is the third consecutive season that the CCIW has finished second among NCAA Division III conferences. As a conference, the CCIW finished third in men's basketball attendance during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 season, as well as second in 2002-03.
The CCIW finished second to the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) among NCAA Division III conferences, averaging 881 fans for a total of 68,705. The MIAA averaged 1,035 fans for a total of 95,181 in 2007-08.
Illinois Wesleyan led the way in fan attendance amongst CCIW schools, averaging 1,486 fans at the Shirk Center in 2007-08 for a total of 16,350. Augustana finished 13th nationally, averaging 1,062 fans for a total of 16,999. Wheaton finished 18th in the country with an average of 995 fans for a total of 9,955.
