NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Augustana’s Bryant Voiles was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.
Voiles, a junior forward from Byron, Ill., and Byron High School, was named the MVP of the Nicolet National Bank Holiday Tournament at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wis., and was instrumental in helping Augustana win three games over the Christmas Holiday. He scored 16 points in the Vikings’ 81-75 victory over Wisconsin-Stout on December 29 in the first round of the NNBHT, connecting on 12-of-15 free throws while pulling down 10 rebounds with three assists. In the championship game, a 57-56 victory over 12th-ranked St. Norbert on December 30, Voiles scored eight points on three-of-six shooting, including two-of-four from three-point range. Voiles closed out the week with game-leading totals of 19 points and 10 rebounds as Augustana won at the University of Chicago, 63-56, on January 2, helping the Vikings to their first-ever 11-0 start since 1935-36. Voiles is an Accounting and Business Administration major.
