North Central's Raridon named CCIW Men's Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Derek Raridon was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.

Raridon, a senior guard/forward from Plainfield, Illinois and Neuqua Valley High School (Finance major), helped lead the Cardinals to a 2-0 record last week and are 9-0 overall for only the second time in program history. He led North Central with 20 points in a 73-64 win over Wisconsin-Platteville on December 11 and added 12 points and a team-high five assists in a 61-55 win over Benedictine on December 15.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
