NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Kedryn Orrison and
Laura Kluk were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Volleyball Players of the Week Tuesday.
Orrison, a sophomore middle hitter from Princeville, Illinois and Dunlap High School (Biology major), finished with 3.15 kills per set and a .533 hitting percentage as the Cardinals went 4-0 at Aurora University’s Jim Coleman Memorial Tournament over the weekend. She hit .650 with 14 kills in a 3-0 win over Manchester and hit .429 with 15 kills and four service aces in a 3-1 win over Principia. She also added seven kills and a .417 hitting percentage in a 3-0 win over Rockford and five kills and a .714 hitting percentage in a sweep over Beloit.
Kluk, a freshman setter from Palatine, Illinois and Palatine High School (Mathematics major), handled all of the setting duties for North Central as the Cardinals hit .350 or better in each match at the Jim Coleman Memorial Tournament. She also posted six service aces in a 3-0 win over Manchester, the highest single-match total for a North Central player thus far this season. Kluk added 43 assists and 10 digs in a win over Principia. For the week, she averaged 11 assists and 1.69 digs per set.

During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
