NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s
Jordan Nelson was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
Nelson, a junior guard from Lincoln, Illinois and Lincoln High School (Business Administration major), helped Illinois Wesleyan to its 29th CCIW title in a 97-88 win at Wheaton on February 22. He scored 18 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field including a 3-of-4 performance from the three-point line against the Thunder, along with five assists off the bench. Earlier in the week, Nelson scored 19 points on 6-of-7 shooting and 5-of-6 from the three-point line in a 107-61 win over North Park on February 19. For the week, Nelson finished 8-of-10 from the three-point line.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2012-13 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,400 academic all-conference recipients, 15 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans, 30 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, 68 all-Americans and one national championship team.
