North Central's Sorenson named CCIW Men's Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Alex Sorenson was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Sorenson, a senior forward from Dunlap, Illinois and Dunlap High School (Accounting major), averaged 39 points and 10.5 rebounds for the 2-0 Cardinals over the Holiday break. He broke a 62-year old school single-game scoring record with 54 points in just 27 minutes of a 117-72 win over Robert Morris-Chicago on December 30. He finished 25-of-29 from the field, along with 14 rebounds and one assist. Additionally, Sorenson had 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal in a 92-78 win over Albion on December 19.
