NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- North Central senior
Dhruvil Patel won his third College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor of the 2018 season on Tuesday.
Additionally, Patel won his second United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week award.
A native of Skokie, Illinois and Niles North High School (Accounting major), Patel placed fourth in the 8K at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday. He finished with a season-best time of 23:51.0 against a majority of NCAA Division I talent. The No. 1-ranked Cardinals won the meet with 102 points, beating out second place Kentucky (110 points), third place Belmont (117 points) and fourth place Louisville (155).

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2017-18 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,100 academic all-conference recipients, 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 28 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
