2018 CCIW All-Conference Volleyball Team

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced on Monday the 2018 All-Conference Volleyball Team.

All nine schools were represented on the 22-player team as CCIW regular season and tournament champion Illinois Wesleyan led the way with six players.

Titan senior outside hitter Tyler Brown (Normal, Ill./West) was voted the 2018 CCIW Player of the Year, becoming the first Illinois Wesleyan student-athlete since Molly May in 2004 to win this award. Brown wrapped up her CCIW career as a four-time all-conference recipient including Second Team honors in 2015 and First Team honors in 2016, 2017 and 2018. In eight conference matches, Brown led the conference in kills per set (3.80) and was third in digs per set (4.87). 

Elmhurst defensive specialist Val Thomas (Mount Prospect, Ill./Prospect) was named the CCIW Freshman of the Year, becoming the first Bluejay since Megan Reynolds in 2010 to win this award. Thomas was second in the conference with 5.41 digs per set (CCIW matches only). 

Illinois Wesleyan's Kim Nelson-Brown won her second CCIW Coach of the Year honors and first since 2003 after leading the Titans to their first regular season title since 2015 and first CCIW Tournament title since 1997 this past season. 

Carthage junior outside hitter Megan Behrendt (Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community) and junior setter Ellie LeCount (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) each won their second-straight all-conference First Team honor, while Illinois Wesleyan senior outside hitter Rachel Burkman (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way North) was named an all-conference performer for the third-straight season including Second Team honors in 2016 and First Team honors in 2017 and 2018. 

Millikin senior outside hitter Emily Seegmiller (Arthur, Ill./Lovington Atwood Hammond) won her second-straight all-conference honor, earning Second Team honors last season and First Team honors this season.

Wheaton senior defensive specialist Jess Bosse (St. Charles, Ill./Wheaton Academy) was named to the First Team and claimed all-conference honors for the first time since being named to the Second Team in 2016. 

North Park senior outside hitter Lauren Wiltsie (Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central) earned her fourth-straight all-conference honor (2015 - Third Team; 2016 - Second Team; 2017 - First Team; 2018 - Second Team).

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2017-18 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,100 academic all-conference recipients, 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 28 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
