NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Broc Rutter, Millikin’s Matt Brown and North Central’s Derik Judka were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Football Players of the Week on Monday.
 
Rutter, a junior quarterback from Naperville, Illinois and Neuqua Valley High School (Marketing major), won his second-straight CCIW Offensive Player of the Week honor after leading the Cardinals to a 32-19 win over Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) at home on Saturday. He broke a 51-year-old North Central single-game record for completions as he finished 35-of-47 for 379 yards and three touchdown passes. His 379 passing yards is the sixth-highest single-game total in Cardinal history.
  
Brown, a junior linebacker from Champaign, Illinois and Champaign Central High School (Business Management major), helped lead the Big Blue defense in a 48-27 win over North Park on Saturday. He finished with seven tackles (five solo), two sacks for minus 13 yards and one interception that he returned for 24 yards. North Park was held to just 27 net rushing yards on the day.
 
Judka, a freshman kicker from Burbank, Illinois and Reavis High School (Electrical Engineering major), connected on the first two field goals of his collegiate career during the Cardinals’ win over WashU on Saturday. He made a 49-yard attempt in the first quarter, which is the sixth-longest in North Central history. Judka also had a 20-yard field goal in the fourth quarter that put the Cardinals up 25-7.
